What are cookies?
A cookie is a small file made up of letters and numbers that is stored on your computer, mobile device or other equipment used to access the internet. The cookie is installed by a request sent from a web page’s server to the browser (for example Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and is completely “passive” (it contains no software, viruses or spyware and has no access to the information on the user’s hardware).
What are cookies used for?
Cookies are widely used to make websites work, or work better and more efficiently. Cookies are necessary for the mjdance.bg site to work; they let you move around it and use its services and features. Without these strictly necessary cookies our site will not work as well for you as we would like, and we may not be able to provide you with certain services or features.
Cookies are also used to collect visit statistics (Google Analytics, WooCommerce Analytics), which help us understand how the site is used and improve its structure and content, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Google. These cookies do not contain your name or contact details, but they can recognise your device on your next visit. The full list is in the section “List of cookies”.
Which cookies do we use?
We use two types of cookies – session cookies and persistent cookies. The former are temporary files that stay on the user’s device until the end of the user session or until the application (web browser) is closed. Persistent files stay on the user’s device for the period set by the cookie or until the user deletes them manually.

The list is current as at 12 October 2026. Names with “*” end in a unique code. A duration of “session” means the cookie is deleted when the browser is closed.

Do cookies contain personal data?
Cookies in themselves do not require personal information in order to be used, and in most cases do not identify internet users personally. Personal data collected through the use of cookies may be collected only to make use easier for the user. This data is encrypted in a way that prevents unauthorised persons from accessing it.
Deleting cookies
As a rule, an application for accessing web pages allows cookies to be stored by default. These settings can be changed so that automatic cookie handling is blocked by the web browser, or so that the user is informed every time cookies are sent to their device. Detailed information on the options and ways of managing cookies can be found in the settings of the application (the web browser). Restricting the use of cookies may affect some features of the website.
Security and confidentiality
Cookies are NOT viruses! They use a plain-text format. They are not made up of pieces of code, so they cannot be executed or run by themselves. They therefore cannot be duplicated or copied to other networks in order to run or replicate again. As they cannot perform these functions, they cannot be considered viruses.
Browsers usually have built-in privacy settings that offer different levels of cookie acceptance, validity periods and automatic deletion after the user has visited a site.
Tips for safe and responsible browsing with cookies
Because of their flexibility and the fact that most of the largest and most-visited sites use cookies, they are almost unavoidable. Here are a few tips for carefree browsing with the help of cookies.
- Customise your browser’s cookie settings to create a level of protection from cookie use that suits you.
- If you are the only person who uses the computer, you can set longer expiry periods for storing your browsing history and access to personal data.
- If you share access to your computer with someone, you can set the browser to delete your personal browsing data every time you close it.
- Make sure your browser is always up to date. Many cookie-based attacks exploit the weak points of old, outdated browser versions.
You can set your browser so that these cookies are no longer accepted, or so that it accepts cookies only from certain sites. All modern browsers offer the option of changing cookie settings. These settings are usually found under “options” or in the “preferences” menu of your browser.
